Ultrasonic aromatherapy diffusers, chosen with care

An oil diffuser is the simplest way to fill your home with scent. Ours are ultrasonic - they use water and gentle vibration to break oil into a fine, cool mist, so there's no heat and no flame. You get clean, even scent right through a room, and many of ours add a soft LED glow for a bit of evening calm.

Add a few drops to the water and you're away. Reach for our pure essential oils and blends when you want the wellbeing side of aromatherapy - sleep, calm, focus, a clearer head. Or reach for our fragrance oils when you simply want your home to smell gorgeous, with bakery, tropical and dessert scents you can't get from a plant. Both mist beautifully in a water-based diffuser; it just comes down to the mood you're after.

Choosing a diffuser comes down to your space: a smaller one suits a bedroom or desk, while a larger tank keeps a living room scented for longer. Fill to the marked line, add three to six drops for a small room, switch it on, and let it do the rest. If you'd like flame-free scent with no power needed at all, a reed diffuser is a lovely alternative.

Oil diffuser questions

How does an oil diffuser work?

An ultrasonic diffuser uses water and high-frequency vibration to break essential oil and fragrance oil into a fine, cool mist that scents the room. There's no heat involved, so the oil's properties stay intact. It's a gentle, effective way to enjoy aromatherapy at home.

How much water and oil do I use?

Fill to the marked line with water, then add a few drops of essential oil or fragrance oil - around three to six for a small room, a touch more for a larger one. Start light; you can always add more next time. Never run it without water.

Which oils can I use in it?

Both work beautifully - just add a few drops to the water. Our pure essential oils and blends give you the aromatherapy benefit, while our fragrance oils open up a world of scents you can't get from a plant, like bakery, tropical and dessert notes. Whichever you reach for, keep it to a few drops, always run it with water, and give the bowl a wipe now and then so it keeps misting nicely.

How do I clean it?

Empty any leftover water, wipe the bowl with a soft cloth, and every week or so run it briefly with water and a little white vinegar to clear oil residue, then rinse. Regular cleaning keeps the mist strong and the unit lasting. Always unplug it first.

Is it safe to leave running around pets?

The diffuser itself is safe, but remember it's dispersing oisl into the air, and some oils aren't suitable around cats, dogs or young children. Run it in a well-ventilated room the animal can leave, keep sessions short, and check individual oils if you're unsure. When in doubt, ask your vet.

Can I visit the studio?

You're welcome to and we'd love to meet you! Our Lyall Bay studio is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, and we're happy to open by appointment outside those hours if that suits you better. Come and have a smell in person; it's the best way to choose. Just flick us a message if you'd like to arrange a time outside our usual hours.

Are your products really made in New Zealand?

Yes! Everything is handcrafted in small batches in our studio in Lyall Bay, Wellington. It's a genuine Kiwi maker business, not drop-shipped or mass-produced, and every product is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. Tested on Shannon first, never on animals.

What's your returns policy?

We accept returns within 30 days on unopened items in their original condition - just get in touch and we'll sort it. For hygiene reasons, opened fragrance and skincare can't be returned unless they've arrived faulty or damaged, in which case we'll always make it right. If anything's not as it should be, tell us and we'll fix it.

How much is shipping and how fast is it?

We offer free shipping on orders over $125, with flat-rate delivery under that. Orders are dispatched within one to two business days - same day if you order before 2pm - and then it's in NZ Post's hands from there. You'll get tracking so you can follow it to your door.
