Ordering & payment

How do I place an order?
Browse the shop, add what you love to your cart, then head to checkout - it takes a couple of minutes. You'll get an order confirmation by email straight away, and a second email with tracking once your parcel is on its way. If anything looks off, just reply to that confirmation and we'll sort it.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards through our secure checkout, along with Afterpay if you'd like to spread the cost. Your details are handled safely by Shopify's payment system - we never see or store your card number.
Can I pay in instalments with Afterpay?
Yes - Afterpay lets you split your order into four interest-free payments, and you'll see it as an option at checkout. Your order is dispatched as normal once it's placed; Afterpay simply handles the payments in the background. You'll find Afterpay's own terms during checkout.
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
We pack quickly - often the same day - so get in touch as soon as you can and we'll do our best to catch it before it ships. If it's already on its way, we'll help you sort a return or exchange instead. A quick message is always the fastest way to reach us.
Do you sell gift sets, and can you include a note?
We do - have a look at our Bundles & Gifts range for ready-made sets, and we're always happy to pop a handwritten note in with a gift. Just leave your message in the order notes at checkout, or email us after ordering and we'll take care of it.

Shipping & delivery

Where do you ship to?
We ship right across New Zealand, from Kaitaia to Bluff and everywhere between. We're a proudly Wellington-made studio, and Australia and wider international shipping are on the way as we grow - if you're overseas and keen, send us a message and we'll let you know where we're up to.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is free on orders over $125. Under that, a small flat rate applies, and you'll see the exact amount at checkout before you pay. Rural addresses can take a little longer to reach, but there's no extra rural charge from us.
How long will my order take to arrive?
We dispatch within one to two business days - same day if you order before 12pm. From there it's with NZ Post, usually one to three working days for urban addresses and a touch longer rural. You'll get tracking so you can follow it to your door.
Will I get tracking?
Yes - as soon as your parcel is dispatched we'll email you a tracking link so you can see exactly where it is. If tracking hasn't updated after a couple of days, get in touch and we'll chase it up with the courier.
Can I pick up my order from the studio?
If you're local to Wellington, you're welcome to collect from our Lyall Bay studio during opening hours - just message us to arrange it and we'll have your order ready. It's a lovely excuse to have a smell of a few things in person while you're here.

Returns & refunds

What's your returns policy?
We accept returns within 30 days on unopened items in their original condition - just get in touch first and we'll walk you through it. For hygiene reasons, opened fragrance and skincare can't be returned unless they've arrived faulty or damaged. If something isn't right, we'll always make it right.
My order arrived damaged - what should I do?
We're sorry if something's arrived less than perfect. Send us a photo within a few days of delivery and we'll sort a replacement or refund straight away - no need to post the damaged item back unless we ask. These things happen in transit, and we'll always look after you.
How do I start a return?
Email us with your order number and what you'd like to return, and we'll reply with the next steps. Please don't send anything back before you hear from us, as we'll want to confirm the details first. We aim to answer returns messages within one business day.
How long do refunds take?
Once your return arrives back with us and we've checked it over, we'll refund your original payment method. It usually lands within a few business days, though your bank or Afterpay may take a little longer to show it. We'll email you the moment it's done.

Our products & ingredients

Are your products vegan and cruelty-free?
Always - every product across the studio is 100% vegan and never tested on animals. Where most balms and skincare lean on beeswax, ours use candelilla wax, a genuine plant-based alternative. Tested on Shannon first, never on animals - that's a promise, not a marketing line.
Are your products natural?
Natural where possible, and always honest about what's inside. Our range spans three types: Natural aromatherapy (pure essential oils and blends), Fragrance (beautifully scented oils for your home, not for skin), and Perfume Dupes (affordable takes on designer scents). Each product page tells you plainly which it is.
What's the difference between essential oils, fragrance oils and perfume dupes?
Essential oils are pure plant extracts used for aromatherapy; fragrance oils are scent oils made for candles, melts and home projects rather than skin; and perfume dupes are our affordable, designer-inspired scents made to wear. If you're not sure which suits, each category page explains it further, or just ask us.
Are your fragrances phthalate-free?
Yes - all of our fragrances are phthalate-free. We're careful about what goes into everything we make, and we're always happy to talk you through the ingredients on any product. You'll find the details on each product page.
What does "designer-inspired" mean?
Our perfume dupes are our own interpretations of the style of well-loved designer scents - we're not affiliated with, endorsed by, or selling the original brands. It's a way to enjoy a scent you love at an honest price, made by hand right here in Lyall Bay.
Are essential oils safe around pets and children?
Some essential oils aren't suitable around cats, dogs or young children, and it varies oil by oil. Diffuse in a well-ventilated room a pet can leave, and check with your vet or a healthcare provider if you're unsure - and if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, get advice before use. Each product page carries specific guidance.

Visiting the studio & getting in touch

Can I visit your studio?
You're very welcome - our Lyall Bay studio is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, and we're happy to open by appointment outside those hours if that suits you better. Come and have a smell in person; it's the best way to find your scent. Just message us if you'd like a time outside our usual hours.
Where are you based?
You'll find us at Unit 34, 70 Kingsford Smith Street, Lyall Bay Junction, Wellington 6022. We're an easy hop from the airport and a short stroll from Lyall Bay beach, with parking nearby.
Are your products made in New Zealand?
Yes - everything is handcrafted in small batches in our Lyall Bay studio in Wellington. It's a genuine Kiwi maker business, not dropshipped or mass-produced. Made by hand, made with heart.
Do you offer wholesale, or can I stock your products?
We'd love to hear from you - if you run a shop, salon or space that would suit our range, send us a message with a little about your business and we'll be in touch about wholesale. We enjoy working with other Kiwi businesses who share our values.
How do I get in touch?
