Our reed diffusers are handmade in small batches in our Lyall Bay studio in Wellington, and they quietly scent a room for around two to three months, drawing fragrance up through natural reeds and releasing it into the air as you go about your day.

They're the easy way to keep an entryway, bathroom or living room smelling gorgeous around the clock. Flip the reeds every few days to refresh the throw, use more reeds in a bigger or draughtier space, and set yours somewhere with a little natural airflow but out of direct sun. Every diffuser is 100% vegan and cruelty-free - tested on Shannon first, never on animals.

For a quick reset between top-ups, pair yours with a room spray, or layer in a wax melt when you fancy a change of scent. If you'd rather a fine, cool mist you can dial up and down, an oil diffuser gives you that control with your favourite essential oils.

Choose fresh and clean scents for bathrooms and kitchens, warm and cosy ones for living spaces, or something floral for the bedroom. Whatever you're after, it's made by hand, made with heart, right here in New Zealand. Rest, relax, refresh.

Reed diffuser questions

How long does a reed diffuser last?
Our 200ml reed diffusers are big-sized and give you around six - nine months of continuous scent, depending on the size, the room, and how warm it is. Warmer rooms and good airflow use the oil a little faster. When the liquid's gone, it's done.
How do I get the best scent throw?
Flip the reeds every few days - that refreshes the scent and keeps it noticeable. Use all the reeds for a bigger or draughtier room, fewer for a small space like a bathroom. A spot with a bit of natural air movement helps the scent travel.
Where should I place it?
Entryways, hallways, bathrooms and living rooms are ideal - near where air moves, but out of direct sun and away from heat vents, which evaporate the oil too fast. Keep it somewhere it won't get knocked, as the oil can mark surfaces. A stable shelf or bench is perfect.
Can I refill it?
Yes — we offer refills! Or, you can top up with a compatible diffuser oil and pop in fresh reeds once the old ones stop drawing well (reeds clog over time). Fresh reeds make a real difference to the throw. Get in touch if you'd like a hand choosing a refill.
Are reed diffusers safe around pets and children?
The oil is for scenting, not for drinking, so keep the bottle and reeds up out of reach of curious pets and little hands. Place it where it can't be tipped over, and wipe up any spills promptly. If a pet or child does get into it, ring your vet or doctor for advice.
Can I visit the studio?
You're welcome to and we'd love to meet you! Our Lyall Bay studio is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, and we're happy to open by appointment outside those hours if that suits you better. Come and have a smell in person; it's the best way to choose. Just flick us a message if you'd like to arrange a time outside our usual hours.
Are your products really made in New Zealand?
Yes! Everything is handcrafted in small batches in our studio in Lyall Bay, Wellington. It's a genuine Kiwi maker business, not drop-shipped or mass-produced, and every product is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. Tested on Shannon first, never on animals.
What's your returns policy?
We accept returns within 30 days on unopened items in their original condition - just get in touch and we'll sort it. For hygiene reasons, opened fragrance and skincare can't be returned unless they've arrived faulty or damaged, in which case we'll always make it right. If anything's not as it should be, tell us and we'll fix it.
How much is shipping and how fast is it?
We offer free shipping on orders over $125, with flat-rate delivery under that. Orders are dispatched within one to two business days - same day if you order before 12pm - and then it's in NZ Post's hands from there. You'll get tracking so you can follow it to your door.
